Uniquely Nashville Lunch Spots

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken

Nashville has long been known for Hot Chicken, but when Hattie B’s came on to the scene, that reputation got even bigger and better.  If you are looking for a taste of this Southern dish, search no further.  Hattie B’s serves up five heat levels on fried or grilled chicken with classic sides like pimento mac-n-cheese and black-eyed pea salad.  A word to the wise,  only the very bravest souls will try the “Shut The Cluck Up” heat level and if you do, arm yourself with a basket full of crinkle fries, a large lemonade, and maybe have 911 on speed dial – just in case.  www.hattieb.com  Address: 112  19th Ave S, Nashville TN 37203

Edley’s BBQ

If there’s any meal that we’re known for in the South outside of hot chicken, it’s Barbeque.  We will argue that Nashville’s barbeque is some of the best in the country.  A favorite spot among many is Edley’s.  They’ve got an assorted menu that includes BBQ Nachos, sandwiches, smoked brisket, tacos, platters, sides and desserts.  With a casual, family-friendly atmosphere, Edley’s is a great spot for catching up with family and friends, watching a game, or simply eating some of the best barbeque in town.  www.edleysbbq.com  Address: 2706 12th Ave S, Nashville TN 37204

Taqueria Del Sol

This fast-casual spot in 12th South is a go-to for a quick lunch or casual dinner.  Fresh ingredients go into making three different kinds of salsa, handmade guacamole, tacos, enchiladas, and more.  Plus, you’ll be blown away by their famous Shrimp Corn Chowder.  Taqueria Del Sol is an inexpensive, but oh-so-delicious option for a meal any time.  www.taqueriadelsol.com  Address: 2317  12th Avenue South, Nashville TN 37204

Dozen Bakery

In the South, we’re not typically known for French foods, but Dozen Bakery in the up and coming Wedgewood Houston area is not to be missed.  Owner, Claire Meneely started the Bakery after finding success supplying muffins and pastries to local coffee shops around town that could not get enough of her delicious baked goods.  Now, with a location of her own, she’s serving up breakfast, lunch, and desserts made from scratch with fresh ingredients.  Her desserts are a clear stand-out, but the lunch menu at Dozen is perfection.  Get half of a sandwich on baguette and a side salad that will change frequently with the seasons.  Plus, we dare you to leave without trying a chocolate chip cookie or a slice of lavender lemon pie.  www.dozen-nashville.com  Address: 516 Hagan St, Suite 103, Nashville TN 37203
